09/15/2020 (Tunisia) - Activists plan to gather in Tunis on Tuesday, September 15, to hold a protest over the UAE and Bahrain's normalization of relations with Israel. Demonstrators will gather at 16:30 (local time) along Avenue Habib Bourguiba. The event is expected to be well-attended.
A heightened security presence and localized transport disruptions are likely in the vicinity of the protest.
Context
On August 13, the UAE and Israel signed an agreement mediated by US President Donald Trump which established full diplomatic relations between the two countries. As part of the agreement, Israel agreed to suspend plans over the annexation of the Jordan Valley. On September 11, Bahrain similarly agreed to normalize ties with Israel.

Those in Tunis are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all demonstrations and political gatherings as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
