08/17/2020 (Tunisia) - The National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) has called for a demonstration in Tunis for Tuesday, August 18, to demonstrate against the normalization of relations between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Israel. The demonstration will reportedly take the form of a large-scale sit-in outside the UAE Embassy from 11:00 (local time).
A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are anticipated in the vicinity of the demonstration.
Individuals in Tunis are advised to monitor developments, avoid all gatherings as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
