10/22/2018 (Tunisia) - According to local media sources on Sunday, 21 October, the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) have cancelled their nationwide public sector strike, due to be held on Wednesday, 24 October, after reaching a wage deal with the government. The strike would have caused significant disruption to travel nationwide. The initial strike was called for amid an ongoing austerity program the country is implementing at the behest of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) which has led the government to reject union demands for pay rises in the public sector.

Members wishing to travel to Tunisia should monitor local media sources for information on any strikes or demonstrations which may impede their travel, and amend their itineraries accordingly.
