10/17/2018 (Argentina) - The Union Tranviarios Automotor (UTA) union has called a general strike from 2200 hrs (0100 UTC) on Tuesday, 16 October, until 0600 hrs (0900 UTC) on Thursday, 18 October, across all public transport in Santiago del Estero province. The strike has been called due to conflicts over staff cuts.
Members should anticipate a surge in demand for alternative means of transport in the event of a strike, leading to significant disruption to overland travel throughout the province. Those intending to travel via public transport are advised to review their journey plans in light of the industrial action.
