02/21/2018 (Argentina) - According to local media reports, labour unions are calling for truck drivers to take part in nationwide strikes and demonstrations on Wednesday, 21 February, in protest of President Macri's proposed labour reforms. Thousands of truck drivers are expected to go on strike for at least 24 hours, as well as participate in large rallies in major cities. Due to the limited rail network in Argentina, trucks are a critical part of the economy, and as such, the industrial action is expected to greatly impact petrol stations, cash machines, and supermarkets nationwide.

Clients in Argentina are advised to remain clear of all political demonstrations in order to limit exposure to potential unruly crowd behaviour, opportunistic crime, and heavy-handed police response. Personnel are advised to monitor local media sources for further updates on the event and any associated disruption in their particular area of operations.
