MIED detonated on government vehicle in Kabul PD6 area October 26

10/26/2020 (Afghanistan) - Sources operating in the region report that a magnetically-attached improvised explosive device (MIED) was detonated on an Afghan Government vehicle in the Shahrak Omid-e Sabz area of Police District 6 (PD6) of Kabul at 07:25 (local time) on Monday, October 26. Reportedly, three Host Country Nationals (HCN) were killed in the incident, which is likely to be cordoned off in the affected area, causing traffic delays. A secondary attack is possible and it is advised that all nonessential personnel avoid the area.
Further localized disruptions are likely in the immediate term.
Those in Kabul are advised to avoid the area of the protest in the near term and plan alternative routes where possible. Travelers should monitor developments, avoid all demonstrations and political gatherings as a precaution, and heed any directives issued by local authorities.
