10/24/2020 (Belgium) - Protesters intend to gather in central Brussels on Sunday, October 25, in order to demonstrate against increased coronavirus disease (COVID-19) restrictions in the capital. Participants will reportedly gather at the Schuman roundabout in the European Quarter at 13:00 (local time). Some 3000 people have declared an interest in the demonstration, with organizers asking attendees to come dressed in black in mourning for the industries most affected by restrictions. City authorities have not approved the protest, which is in contravention of COVID-19 regulations, but police have stated that they are preparing for a large crowd.
Further protests against COVID-19 restrictions are likely throughout Belgium over the near to medium term. A heightened security presence and a disruption to transportation and business should be expected near protest sites.

Those in Brussels are advised to monitor developments, avoid large gatherings as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
