Flight disruptions likely during planned air traffic workers' strike October 25-27

10/23/2020 (Sudan) - Domestic and international flight disruptions are likely nationwide during industrial action by workers affiliated with the Sudan Airports Holding Company. The strike will begin on Sunday, October 25, at 09:00 (local time) and last through early Tuesday, October 27. The employees are demanding a restructuring of the Sudanese Civil Aviation Authority as well as fair working conditions. Union leaders have stated that the strike will not affect military or humanitarian flights. Associated demonstrations are possible during the strike.
Disruptions to air travel to and from Sudan are to be anticipated during the strike action.

Those traveling to Sudan are advised to monitor the situation, anticipate residual delays, and confirm flight itineraries.
