US airstrike kill multiple suspected militants in Idlib governorate on October 22

10/23/2020 (Syria) - At least 14 people were killed in a US coalition airstrike in Jakarah (Idlib governorate) on Thursday, October 22. The airstrike was reportedly targeting a meeting between Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) militants in the village, which is located near the border with Turkey.
Further airstrikes in Idlib governorate are possible in the near term.
Due to extremely poor security conditions, Western governments generally advise against all travel to Syria, with some banning travel to the country. Professional security advice and support should be sought prior to any travel to Syria.
