Labor protest scheduled in Panama City for October 22

10/21/2020 (Panama) - A workers' union protest is scheduled to take place in Panama City on Thursday, October 22, to urge the government to reject a law that would merge all national health institutions together. The demonstration will begin at 16:00 (local time) at Parque Porras, from which participants will march to the Office of the President.
A heightened security presence and localized travel disruptions should be anticipated in the vicinity of the protest.

Those in Panama City are advised to monitor developments, avoid all demonstrations as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
