10/04/2020 (Argentina) - A nationwide workers' strike is scheduled to take place throughout urban centers of Argentina on Tuesday, October 6. The strike has been organized by the ATE workers' union and has been called to demand an increase in salaries to offset rampant inflation. Associated demonstrations are expected throughout the country. In Buenos Aires, participants are scheduled to gather at 11:00 (local time) at theObelisk in the Plaza de la Republica before marching to the National Congress.
A heightened security presence and localized disruptions are possible in the vicinity of all demonstrations.
Those in Argentina are advised to monitor the situation, avoid associated demonstrations, and heed instructions issued by local authorities.
