09/30/2020 (Ethiopia) - Security forces personnel are set to parade through Addis Ababa on Wednesday, September 30. Reports indicate that the parade will take place near Meskel Square between 07:00 and 12:30 (local time). Authorities have announced that streets leading to Meskel Square will be closed from 06:00 and are expected to be reopened during the afternoon. It is not clear what the parade will entail, but some social media reports are calling the parade a military exercise, and that military hardware will likely be on show during the parade. Wednesday's parade will reportedly be the second such parade in under a month.
A heightened security presence and associated disruptions to travel is to be anticipated in the vicinity of the parade.

Those in Addis Ababa are advised to monitor developments, avoid large gatherings as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
