Explosion reported in southern village of Ein Qana September 22

09/22/2020 (Lebanon) - An explosion was reported in the southern village of Ein Qana (Nabatieh Governorate) on Tuesday, September 22, located around 50 km (31 mi) south of Beirut. The village is a political stronghold of Hezbollah. Authorities reported that there are injuries; however, no specific figures were given. The cause of the blast has not been reported and the area has been cordoned off.
Significant disruptions to transportation and business are to be expected in the area in the near term.

Those in Ein Qana are advised to remain indoors, close doors and windows, and monitor local media sources for further updates on the incident.
