09/21/2020 (Argentina) - Workers in Argentina's tourism industry are to hold protests nationwide on Monday, September 21, over the impact of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) restrictions on their businesses as well as to reject several economic measures imposed by the Argentinian Central Bank. Members of some 5500 tourism agencies are expected to take part in the protests. The largest demonstration is expected to be held in Buenos Aires, where protesters are to gather in front of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports at 10:00 (local time), before marching to the Central Bank building an hour later. Another large protest is expected in La Plata, where people are to gather in front of Government House at 10:00. Smaller protests are likely in urban centers throughout the country.
A heightened security presence is likely in cities throughout Argentina on Monday. Disruption to transportation and business is to be expected in the vicinity of protest sites.

Those in Argentina are advised to monitor the situation, anticipate transportation disruptions, avoid all demonstrations and large gatherings as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
