09/16/2020 (Morocco) - Owners of hammams (traditional bathhouses) plan to hold a protest in Casablanca on Wednesday, September 16. The demonstration will take place at the Casablanca-Settat region headquarters from 11:00 (local time). Hammams are currently closed due to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) restrictions and owners are calling for their establishments to be permitted to reopen.
A heightened security presence and localized transport disruptions are likely in the vicinity of the demonstration.
Those in Casablanca are advised to monitor the situation, anticipate transportation disruptions, avoid all protests or demonstrations as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
