09/14/2020 (Pakistan) - Protesters have gathered outside the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Assembly located near the Shahi Bagh area of Peshawar on Monday, September 14, to denounce the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) policies in Pakistan. The IMF's policies are allegedly perceived to be detrimental to labor rights in Pakistan. Thousands of workers from more than 50 trade unions and labor organisations were expected to participate in the planned demonstration, which began at 11:00 (local time).
Heightened security and localized disruptions are expected in the vicinity of the rally. Clashes between protesters and security forces cannot be ruled out.

Those in Peshawar are advised to closely monitor developments, avoid all protests and large public gatherings as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
