09/14/2020 (Iran) - Demonstrators plan to gather on Tuesday, September 15, outside the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Iranian Parliament) in the capital Tehran. According to media sources, retirees are demanding higher pensions due to a rise in the cost of living. Participants are expected to gather from 10:00 (local time) and reports suggest the demonstration will likely be well-attended.
Localized disruption in the vicinity of the gathering and a heightened security presence should be anticipated. Clashes between police and protesters cannot be ruled out.
Those in Tehran are advised to closely monitor developments, avoid all protests and large public gatherings as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
