Reports of rocket fire near Baghdad International Zone September 14

09/14/2020 (Iraq) - At least two rockets were fired towards theInternational Zone of Baghdad during the evening of Monday, September 14. Sources suggest that the rockets were fired in the direction of the US Embassy and unverified reports suggest that air defense systems at the Embassy intercepted the projectiles; however, additional rockets may have been fired and impacted within the Zone.
Further attacks targeting the International Zone are expected to continue in the near term.
Individuals in the area are advised to monitor developments, avoid the affected area, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities and their home governments.
