Militants kill soldiers during operation near Tripoli September 13

09/14/2020 (Lebanon) - Four soldiers were killed as clashes broke out during a raid on the home of a wanted militant near Tripoli on Sunday, September 13. The patrol from Lebanese army intelligence was attacked with gunfire and hand grenades as they raided the militant's residence in the Minyeh Jabal al-Bedawi area. The wanted militant was also reportedly killed during the operation.
A heightened security presence is expected in the area over the coming days following the incident.
Those in the Tripoli area are advised to monitor developments, anticipate disruption from ongoing security operations, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
