09/14/2020 (Egypt) - Local authorities have announced that the water supply to 11 neighborhoods in Cairo Governorate will be cut for 12 hours on Monday, September 14, during essential maintenance work. Mains water is expected to be unavailable in Heliopolis, Roxy, el-Khalifa el-Maamoun, Hadaiq al-Qubbah, Mansheyat as-Sadr, Mansheya el-Bakry, el-Abaseya, Helmeya az-Zeitoun, Hadaiq az-Zeitoun, al-Matariyyah, and some areas of Ain Shams between 09:00 and 21:00 (local time). The outage has been planned to allow essential work to be carried out on water mains in Raneen Square.
It is currently unclear whether the works are expected to overrun beyond Monday, but public water bowsers will be made available in areas affected by prolonged outages.

Those in the affected areas are advised to review their water supply contingency and business continuity plans where appropriate and should ensure that adequate supplies of bottled water are available during the planned outage.
