09/12/2020 (New Zealand) - Activists have gathered in Auckland's central to protest against coronavirus disease (COVID-19) restrictions on Saturday, September 12. Hundreds are reportedly taking part in the demonstration.
A heightened security presence is to be expected in the vicinity of the protest and localized transportation and business disruptions are possible while it is ongoing. Further protests are likely over the near term.
Those in Auckland are advised to monitor developments, avoid all protests and large public gatherings as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
