09/12/2020 (Australia) - A protest has been scheduled in Melbourne on Saturday, September 12, over restrictions implemented due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. The demonstration is being held at the Tan Track (Royal Botanic Gardens) where participants are set to gather from around 11:00 (local time).
Police have announced that they will attempt to block the gatherings due to the violation of social distancing measures. Clashes between security forces and protesters cannot be ruled out.
Associated business and transportation disruptions are to be anticipated in the vicinity of the protest, as well as a heightened security presence.

Those in Melbourne are advised to monitor developments, avoid protests and large public gatherings as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
