09/10/2020 (Greece) - Civic activists and labor unions are set to demonstrate in Thessaloniki on Saturday, September 12, in connection with certain social and economic issues, and to denounce a recently passed law on demonstrations. Reportedly, participants will gather at 18:30 (local time) in Xanti Square and the demonstration will likely be well-attended.
A heightened security presence is to be anticipated in the vicinity of protest sites, along with disruptions to overland travel.
Those in Thessaloniki are advised to monitor the situation, anticipate transportation disruptions, and avoid all protests and demonstrations as a precaution.
