Security forces apprehend suspected terrorists Kirsehir province September 10

09/10/2020 (Turkey) - Turkish security forces announced the arrests of 11 suspected members of the Daesh/Islamic State (IS) militant group on Thursday, September 10, in multiple counter-terrorism operations in the central province of Kirsehir. The group was reportedly comprised of Iraqi nationals who had committed terrorist acts in Iraq and later fled illegally into Turkey. The operations were undertaken simultaneously based on intelligence from other recently arrested individuals.
Further counter-terrorism operations are possible over the near term.

Those in Turkey should remain vigilant, report any suspicious items or behavior to police, and adhere to all instructions and advice issued by local authorities and their home governments.
