09/10/2020 (United States) - Opposing activists groups are scheduled to protest in Arlington, Massachusetts, on Thursday, September 10. One group is scheduled to gather at approximately 16:00 (local time) at the Arlington Town Hall, on Massachusetts Avenue, for a demonstration calling for more support for police officers. A group affiliated with the Black Lives Matter movement have called for a counterprotest in response, and are scheduled to gather at Whittemore Park from 15:45 before marching to the Calvary United Methodist Church on Massachusetts Avenue.
A heightened security presence is expected in the vicinity of the protests and clashes between the opposing groups cannot be ruled out. Associated business and transportation disruptions are to be anticipated near the demonstration site, as well as a heightened security presence.

Those in Arlington are advised to avoid all demonstrations as a precaution, monitor developments, anticipate transportation and business disruptions near protest sites, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
