09/09/2020 (Congo (Kinshasa)) - Female activists are planning to hold a demonstration in the capital Kinshasa on Saturday, September 12, to denounce a spate of kidnappings and assaults targeting women traveling in informal taxis. Participants are set to gather from 09:00 (local time) at theGare Centrale (Central Station), before marching to the local police headquarters.
Although the event is expected to pass off peacefully, it will likely cause localized travel disruption.

Those in Kinshasa are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all protests and demonstrations as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
