09/09/2020 (United States) - Emergency services continue to respond to the Cameron Peak Fire which continued to grow on Wednesday, September 9, to the west of Fort Collins in Larimer county (Colorado). The fire, which has been burning since August 13, has now consumed an area of 41,519 hectares (102,596 acres) and is four percent contained. Mandatory and voluntary evacuation orders remain in place around the vicinity of the fire. Information on these orders can be found here. Forecasted snowfall may slow the spread of the fire; however, authorities warned that several days of wet vegetation would be required to stop the spread completely.
Further spread of the fire is possible in the near term. An emergency response presence and localized transportation disruptions, namely road closures, should be anticipated in the affected areas.

Those in the affected areas are advised to monitor the situation, avoid the area, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities, including evacuation orders.
