08/11/2020 (Pakistan) - Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) supporters clashed with security forces in western Lahore on Tuesday, August 11, amid a dispute over a land acquisition case. The clashes erupted as PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz arrived at the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) office in the Canal Colony area of the city to answer allegations relating to an allegedly corrupt land deal. Several hundred PML-N supporters are reported to have accompanied Nawaz's motorcade and begun throwing stones at police officers outside the NAB offices. Security forces are reported to have responded with water canon and tear gas to disperse the crowd and arrested at least 50 activists. However, there are currently no reports of any significant injuries from the clashes.
Further police activity and localized disruptions are likely in the area in the near term.

Those in Lahore are advised to monitor the situation, avoid all protests as a precaution, anticipate a heightened security presence, and obey instructions issued by local authorities.
