08/09/2020 (South Sudan) - Inter-communal clashes led to at least six people being killed in Rumbek Central County (Lakes State) on Wednesday, August 5. The fighting reportedly involved the Nyang and Amothnhom sections of the Kuei community, with the initial confrontation between two men leading to a gunfight between the two groups.
Further violence in the area cannot be ruled out in the near term.

South Sudan has been wracked by years of political, interethnic, and intercommunal violence amid the country's long civil war.
