08/09/2020 (Turkey) - An explosion was reported in the Nisantas area of Konya (Central Anatolia region) on Sunday, August 9. The incident reportedly occurred in a building along the Demiryolu Caddesi road. Emergency services are responding to the incident. There have so far been no reported casualties due to the incident. The cause of the blast is unconfirmed. However, it is believed that a gas leak may have caused the explosion. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
Localized traffic disruptions are possible near the site of the explosion over the coming hours.
Those in Konya are advised to avoid the affected area, monitor developments, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
