Reports of fatality during clashes in Jenin, West Bank August 7

08/07/2020 (Palestinian Territories/ West Bank and Gaza Strip) - A Palestinian woman was killed in Jenin, West Bank on Friday, August 7, as Israeli soldiers clashed with Palestinians in the area. According to Palestinian sources, Israeli troops were conducting raids in the Al Jaberiyyat neighborhood which sparked clashes between the troops and Palestinians, with the latter throwing stones and projectiles at the troops. According to these reports, a Palestinian woman was shot and killed whilst in her home during a raid. Israeli sources deny the use of live fire by the Israeli troops and state that the Palestinians opened fire and hurled explosives towards them, which they responded to by firing tear gas to disperse them.
Tensions remain high in the occupied Palestinian territories, and further clashes are likely in the near term.
Those in the West Bank are advised to monitor the situation, anticipate heightened security presence, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities.
