Demonstrators to gather in Khartoum August 7

08/07/2020 (Sudan) - Demonstrators are planning to gather in the capital Khartoum on Friday, August 7, to denounce alleged un-Islamic legal amendments. Reportedly, security forces have closed bridges connecting Khartoum to Omdurmanand North Khartoum, and some roads surrounding the Sudan Armed Forces Headquarters in the capital have also been closed, along with other roads in Khartoum, Omdurman, and North Khartoum.
A heightened security presence and associated disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of any protest site.

Those in Sudan are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all demonstrations and political gatherings as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
