08/07/2020 (Chile) - Protests and commemorations have taken place in Iquique, Concepción, Santiago, and Villa Alemana on Thursday evening, August 6. Residents of these cities protested with pots and pans and lit candles in main squares following the reported homicide of a teenager, Ámbar Cornejo. A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are anticipated in the vicinity of protests.
Individuals in Chile are advised to monitor developments, avoid all protests as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
