08/05/2020 (Pakistan) - A grenade blast has injured at least five people in Karachi's Gulshan-e-Iqbal area on Wednesday, August 5. Allegedly, unidentified attackers threw a grenade into a crowd that had gathered to protest. The protest was reportedly organized by Jamaat-e-Islami to condemn controversial policies in Jammu and Kashmir. There were no immediate claims of responsibility for the incident.
Heightened security and localized transport and business disruptions are likely in the impact area in the coming hours. Protesters may become violent following the blast.

Those in Karachi are advised to monitor developments, remain vigilant for militant activity, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities and their home governments.
