Nationwide protests scheduled for August 4

08/04/2020 (Morocco) - Healthcare workers affiliated with the Moroccan Workers Union (UMT) have organized several protests to take place outside of Moroccan hospitals nationwide from 11:00 (local time) on Tuesday, August 4. The demonstrations are being held following the Minister of Health's decision to cancel the annual leave for workers in the sector and to demand better working conditions and higher compensation.
A heightened security presence and localized travel disruption should be anticipated in the vicinity of the event. Disruption to medical services may apply.
Individuals are advised to monitor developments to the situation, anticipate potential disruptions to the provision of medical services, and to avoid all public demonstrations as a precaution.
