09/19/2019 (Bermuda) - Meteorological sources report that the core of Hurricane Humberto passed to the north of Bermuda overnight on Wednesday, 18 September, leaving approximately 27,900 customers, 80% of the territory, without power. The Bermuda Electric Light Company (BELCO) has said that it is not yet able to dispatch crews to restore power until winds and rain subside. Southern coastal parts of the island are under a flood threat through Thursday.

Members in the areas affected should review business and travel contingency plans in light of the outages and monitor local media for updates on the situation and the latest information on the restoration of power. Travellers should be mindful of an increased risk of opportunistic crime in the city amid the outages.
