09/19/2019 (Spain) - Travel media sources have reported that public transport workers are planning to stage a march in Madrid for Thursday, 19 September. The protesters are demanding better working conditions and staffing levels, as well as an increase in service capacity. Participants will march from Plaza de Cibeles to Puerta del Sol at 1900hrs (1700 UTC). A heightened security presence and localised travel disruptions are likely.
Members in Madrid should avoid all demonstrations and large political gatherings in order to lessen the chances of being affected by incidental violence, opportunistic crime and subsequent police operations. Members should monitor local media sources for any further information regarding road closures and other travel disruption.
