09/18/2019 (Palestinian Territories/ West Bank and Gaza Strip) - National and local media sources have reported that a Palestinian woman has been killed at the Qalandiya checkpoint, in central West Bank, on Wednesday, 18 September. Reports state that woman was shot after she allegedly approached the checkpoint security staff holding a knife; she later died of her injuries.
Members in the area are advised to monitor local media sources for further updates on the incident and any associated disruption. Travellers should be aware of the potential for localised disruption and delays due to police operations connected with the incident. Due to the elevated risk of low-level militant attacks, including stabbing and shooting attacks directed at security forces, those in Israel are advised to maintain a heightened level of vigilance and immediately report any suspicious activity to security forces.
