09/15/2019 (Ukraine) - According to local media sources, an LGBT+ Pride parade has been organised to take place in the Kharkiv city centre on Sunday, 15 September. Additional 2,500 police personnel have reportedly been deployed in preparation for the rally, which is the first LGBT+ parade to be held in the city. A series of events leading up to the Pride parade have taken place over the last week. Reports indicate that a counter-demonstration has also been planned, with participants reportedly gathering on Constitution Square are 1300hrs (1000 UTC) to protest.

Members are advised to avoid the vicinity of any protests in order to minimise the risk of exposure to incidental violence, opportunistic crime and heavy-handed security response. Members with overland travel plans should review itineraries and amend them accordingly to avoid any delays associated with the parade. Monitor local media for the latest updates relating to the parade and any associated disruption.
