09/14/2019 (Saudi Arabia) - According to reports emerging on social media, several explosions have been heard at the Aramco oil processing facilities in Abqaiq in the early hours of Saturday morning, 14 September. Imagery on social media shows fire coming from the plant. The cause of the fire and other circumstances around the incident are still unclear. There have been reports of gunfire and evacuations taking place, but there has been no confirmation of either. Further information is awaited.
Members are advised to avoid the vicinity of the incident due to the ongoing response operations. Monitor local media sources for further information regarding the incident and heed all directives issued by local authorities.
