09/14/2019 (Afghanistan) - Emerging reports on social media feeds on Saturday, 14 September, indicate a blast has been reported in the city of Jalalabad, Nangarhar province. Initial reports suggest at least four people have been injured in the explosion which took place in the Surkh-Rod district. Further information is awaited.
Members are advised to avoid the vicinity of the incident due to the risk of further explosions and the ongoing response operations. Afghanistan remains an extremely high-risk operational environment, and deployments should only be undertaken with the strictest possible security risk management procedures in place. Members should maintain a low profile and use a vetted security provider that offers close protection and emergency response services.
