Fatality Reported following Retaliatory Clashes in Petit-Goave, Ouest Department

09/14/2019 (Haiti) - According to media reports, clashes erupted in Petit-Goave, Ouest Department, on Friday, 13 September, following a fatal stabbing incident. It is indicated that relatives of a stabbing victim attacked the family of the alleged perpetrator, setting fire to multiple buildings. The stabbing occurred on Thursday after a heated argument escalated.

Due to the risk of violent crime and high levels of criminal activity, all but essential travel should be avoided to certain areas of Haiti known for gang-related violence. Members should monitor local media for updates on the current situation and news of any further escalations of violence.
