09/14/2019 (India) - According to social media reports on Saturday, 14 September, Pakistani troops engaged in heavy firing and shelling on forward posts and villages along the Line of Control in Balakote and Mankote areas of the Poonch district. Reports suggest the firing began at around 1000hrs (0430 UTC). This was then followed by retaliation from the Indian army. However, there are contradictory reports over who initiated the ceasefire violations. It is unclear if fighting has ceased in the area. There are currently no confirmed reports of casualties.

Due to the current escalated tension in the cross-border relations, members are advised to avoid all non-essential travel to the Kashmir border regions. Members conducting operationally-critical travel are advised to maintain a heightened level of situational awareness and monitor local media sources to remain apprised of any ongoing security operations in the area.
