09/13/2019 (Malaysia) - According to media sources, an opposition rally will be held in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, 14 September. The rally will reportedly take place around the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) and is being organised by United Malays National Organisation and the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), in order to formalise the cooperation between the two political parties. Sources have suggested that over 10,000 participants are expected to attend the rally. Disruption to the nearby PWTC Light Rail Transit should be anticipated.
Members are advised to avoid any large crowds and protests due to the potential for violent crowd behaviour and heavy-handed police crowd dispersal measures. Travellers are further advised to review overland travel arrangements in case of potential disruptions resulting from the large crowds. Monitor local media sources for further information regarding the protests and any associated disruption.
