09/13/2019 (Senegal) - According to social media outlets, a sit-in protest has been planned to take place on Monday, 16 September, at Dakar's Blaise Diagne International Airport (DSS). Reports indicate that the demonstrators are protesting the airport's mismanagement and the costly parking, and will reportedly gather at 1500hrs (UTC) outside the airport. Flights are unlikely to be affected, however, as the group is reportedly planning to protest outside the airport and in the parking area, localised disruption is possible for those traveling to and from the airport.

Those in Dakar should avoid the vicinity of any political gatherings in order to lessen the chances of being affected by unruly crowd behaviour and police crowd control operations. Members should monitor local media sources for further updates regarding disruption resulting from the demonstration. Allow extra time for travel to the airport, and expect possible delays in travel from the airport upon arrival.
