02/18/2019 (Yemen) - According to local media outlets, at least 30 Houthi militants were killed on Saturday, 16 February, following an attack on a group of tribesmen from the Hajour Tribe in Aflah Ash Shawm district, Hajjah governorate. The Hajour tribe, backed by Saudi-led coalition airstrikes, was able to foil the attack. Unconfirmed reports indicate that Houthi militants launched further attacks in Asir, Nairan and Jizan killing nine soldiers.
Due to the ongoing conflict, Yemen remains an extreme risk environment and as such members should reconsider all non-essential travel to the country at this time. Operationally-critical travel should only be conducted with maximum security provisions in place and all movements outside secure compounds should only be conducted following a thorough localised risk assessment.
