Further Nationwide 'Yellow Vests' Protests Scheduled

02/18/2019 (France) - Media sources reported on Monday, 18 February, that further protests by supporters of the 'Yellow Vests' ('gilets jaunes') movement are set to continue. The protests are usually held on Saturdays in Paris, though additional gatherings elsewhere are possible. On Saturday, 23 February, a march will reportedly commence at 1030hrs (0930 UTC) on the Avenue des Champs-Elysees; the route is not yet known.
Members are advised to avoid any demonstrations due to the security risk that they pose. Any large crowds should be avoided and strong situational awareness should be maintained at all times. Travellers are also encouraged to monitor local news and media for further information relating to the protests.
