Multiple Fatalities and Injuries Following Car Bomb Detonations in Idlib

02/18/2019 (Syria) - Emerging social media reports on Monday, 18 February, are suggesting that multiple explosions have occurred in the Al-Qusour area of Idlib. Media sources are claiming that at least 15 people have been killed and dozens injured after at least two apparent vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs) exploded. According to some sources, one explosion targeted a local courthouse and another explosion occurred when rescue teams arrived on scene to attend the wounded from the initial explosion. Local hospitals are requesting immediate blood donations due to the number of injured and the severity of their injuries.

Members should maintain exceptional situational awareness as Syria remains an extreme-risk location. Non-essential travel should be avoided and necessary travel should be carried out using vetted security and travel providers. Travellers are also advised to monitor local news and media for further reports relating to ongoing events in Syria.
