Injuries Reported following Attack on Security Forces in Tame, Arauca Department

02/17/2019 (Colombia) - According to local media reports on Saturday, 16 February, at least six members of the security forces have been injured after they were attacked near the village of Palestina in the municipality of Tame, Arauca department. Reports indicate that suspected members of the Domingo Lain Sanez Front group of the National Liberation Army (ELN) detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) as an army vehicle passed through the area.

Members conducting travel outside of major cities in Colombia are advised to subject all journeys to a comprehensive localised threat assessment and liaise with local authorities to identify areas with active militant and security operations.
