02/17/2019 (Morocco) - According to local media and social media outlets, the Democratic Confederation of Labour (CDT) that represents public sector employees has called for a 24-hour general strike to take place on Wednesday, 20 February, nationwide. Sources indicate activists are gathering to protest against economic conditions and wages, the halt of social dialogue and other social issues.
Members in-country should monitor local media sources for further information regarding demonstrations and associated disruption. Members are further advised to avoid all political gatherings and protests to minimise the risk of exposure to incidental violence, opportunistic crime and heavy-handed security response.
